Joel Hall, AKA ZeroPlusOne, spends most days in a tiny room in a xmall shed writing and producing music and posting it online.
He started writing music at a young age. His major influences come from icons such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Handcock, Fats Waller, Hoagy Carmichael, John Cage, Brian Eno, The Beatles.

"A Shout Out from the Rez," combines a kind of free jazz juxtaposed against beats that are stolen from HIP HOP artist then mashed up until they served the purpose. The instrumentation is mix with trumpet combined with electronic synth sounds. All of the music is improvised by the composer.

Joel Hall lives on the Lummi Reservation (not a tribal member), less than a mile from the Salish Sea, a few miles from Canada in the Northwest corner of the USA.
