about

"Farewell to Weapons" was recorded in 2013 and was loosely inspired by the dystopian / apocalyptic war-torn desert landscapes seen in movies like Automata, Terminator Salvation, Dredd or District 9. The intent was an almost entirely non-musical, "AI-driven" sound, as if what you're hearing isn't "noisy drum-machine grindcore" but rather an automated multi-phase assault. Picture long range sonic weapons, guided anti-tank missiles and belt-fed, gas-operated machine guns operated by some kind of core digital consciousness. Saw the anime "Farewell to Weapons" from "Short Peace" a few years later and felt that environment was exactly what I had in mind.
