about

7 minute deluge of corrupt beats that are spliced and sliced together, distorting time and the noise.

"Chibirashka" is from a series of rainy day beat construction experiments in 2004. Between live bands, I used to spend a lot of time playing around with noise, drum beats, sampling and transitions, which generated probably hours worth of weird / incomplete fragments that either got used on later recordings or still remain on dusty hard drives somewhere. For "Chibirashka," I pulled together a tight nine minutes worth of material that really functions as one track, but is made up of several different chunks of material. The beats themselves are directly influenced by things like The Horse That Took Out Superman, Terminal Sound System, Maruosa and El P.
