Steven Karl is the author of Dork Swagger (Coconut Books) and Sister (forthcoming from Noemi Press, 2016). Born in Philadelphia, raised in South Jersey, he now lives in Miami, Florida. Recent and forthcoming work appears in The First Time I Heard My Bloody Valentine, Jellyfish, Pinwheel, Entropy, and Real Pants.

All poems are from Dork Swagger except the one beginning with “’Tho the Mammoth Russians favored by fields of hippies.”

Muteant Sounds started out as a tape trading label in the mid 90s sending out tapes by two foot tall jerk, 0781KT, Dome from Jay Reeve's various NJ dwellings. In the early 00s tapes made way to cdrs, photocopies turned into web sites. Rebooted in 2012,Jay Reeve and Vinnie Paternostro are releasing various bands, projects and collaborations of their own and all their criminally obscure friends. ... more
