Symmetrisk Skitse

by Kristoffer Raasted

Symmetrisk Skitse is a sine wave piece conceived in New York in 2016 during a period when Kristoffer Raasted was an intern at Issue Project Room. The tones were generated and edited in Audacity.

Kristoffer Raasted (b.1988) is a visual artist working with sound within a visual arts context. Based in Copenhagen, Raasted is involved in the listening group Queer Producers. In their œuvre the voice is an important sound source, with inspiration among others from the early Susan Philipsz and Yoshi Wada. In recent years the filtering of the voice via an integrated DJ-mixer has been a primary sound source for Raasted, who was singing in the Copenhagen Boys Choir as a child.

Kristoffer Raasted holds an MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts & l'École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts with a supplementary degree in art theory from the Institute of Art, Writing and Resaerch. Curations include 'Costume Event' Pavilloon 11 & 'Combinations' Villa Kultur. Kristoffer Raasted has exhibited and performed internationally, among other places at Superedluxe, Tokyo - Café OTO, London and Trans-Pecos, New York.
